Welcome to EdSurge's 2018 Jobs Guide! We want to help you find the job that will brighten your world and challenge you in positive ways. For many, getting involved in education can be the most meaningful professional work they've ever done.
At the same time, great organizations need exceptional people. So we're helping organizations, too, find the kind of talent that will help them fulfill their mission and serve students and educators everywhere.
We've got two approaches: First, the articles in this guide should help get you geared up for the job search. We've got tips on writing your resume, your cover letter and yes, even on leaving your current job when you settle on where to work next.
Second: Edtech Jobs Fairs. We'll be traveling to San Francisco, Boston, DC and New York in the coming weeks. These events are fabulous ways to meet in person with recruiters and capture their attention. Sure, it's sort of like speed dating. But if you make a strong first impression, following up later with a recruiter becomes much easier. (And yes, we've got some pointers for rocking jobs fairs, too.) We will also engage companies in panels around who they are and what they're looking for in candidates, as well as hosting a workshop or two on developing your jobseeker skills.
Finding the right job—or the right next employee—can be an inspiring process. You're taking steps to build the life and organization that will provide you with a living, with colleagues and, very possibly, with purpose. Let's get started!
