Corinne O. Takara is a Bay Area artist and arts education specialist. Her technology infused youth and public art projects engage students as makers and designers. She has collaborated with San Jose Alum Rock youth on art projects since 2006, (both in the classroom and in informal learning spaces). A collection of these projects have received state and national recognition for community impact and innovation. Takara designed and brought the Alum Rock Art & Design Thinking Camp to life four years ago in collaboration with the Alum Rock Educational Foundation. The camp recently received the 2016 Microsoft/KCI Innovation Award for an innovative teacher-student collaborative project that fully integrates technology and benefits the Silicon Valley educational community.
